Kaklik Cave, also known as the “Underground Pamukkale,” is a hidden gem located in the town of Honaz, near Pamukkale in Turkey. Unlike Pamukkale’s famous white travertine terraces, Kaklik Cave is a lesser-known attraction but equally fascinating. The cave is famous for its unique formations of stalactites and stalagmites, formed over millions of years, and its breathtaking underground lakes.

The cave is approximately 150 meters long and divided into two parts, the upper and lower galleries, accessible through a narrow entrance. Visitors must wear helmets and sturdy shoes as the cave can be slippery and dark. As you enter the cave, you’ll see a narrow passageway, leading you to the first chamber, filled with beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites in different shapes and sizes.

The cave’s underground lakes are the most mesmerizing part of the cave. The water is crystal clear and reflects the stalactites and stalagmites’ shapes, creating a stunning visual experience. Visitors can take a boat ride on the lakes, adding a unique touch to their visit.

Kaklik Cave’s geological and historical significance is also worth noting. The cave’s formation dates back to the Cenozoic era, and it’s believed to have been used by early humans as a shelter. The cave’s mineral-rich water was also used in ancient times for its healing properties.

In recent years, Kaklik Cave has become an increasingly popular destination for tourists who want to escape the crowds at Pamukkale and explore a unique underground world. Visiting Kaklik Cave is an unforgettable experience and a must-see for anyone interested in the geological and historical wonders of Turkey.
